Middleman View
This appears to be a strong opportunity for an established contractor with relevant commercial experience, suitable capacity and the required compliance documentation.
Potential strengths
- Value band aligns with a single self-delivered scheme — no need to sub-contract core works
- Standard surfacing scope with no unusual design risk
- NHSS 12D/12AB is common for established highways contractors
Potential risks
- Programme is tight (10 weeks) — confirm crew and plant availability now
- TTM contraflow on the A47 may need local authority coordination
- Asphalt supply lead times should be locked in before award
Things to check before applying
- Confirm your NHSS 12D/12AB accreditation is valid past the contract end date
- Pull two case studies matching the scope and value band
- Check turnover threshold against your last 3 years' accounts
